Surinaamse Ongevallenregeling (SOR) for employees
The SOR Insurance (Suriname Accident Insurance) covers the obligations of the employer towards his personnel with regard to an accident or occupational illness, in conformity with the Accident Insurance as stipulated in the State Decree of September 10, 1947.
The compensation may consist of:
- Medical expenses such as physician’s consultation, specialist treatment, medicine and hospital admission in the lowest class, including thereto related additional expenses;
- A day compensation in case of temporary incapacity for work, to the amount of 100% of the insured wage;
- An interest compensation in case of permanent invalidity or decease, based on the insured wage at the time of the accident. One or the other in accordance with the established regulations, percentages or factors;
- A compensation for funeral expenses.
